The whole plot of 2017’s “Dead Male” includes Will’s child Henry (Brenton Thwaites) looking for the spear of Poseidon as a means to release his father from the Flying Dutchman. The trident contains all the wonderful spells and curses of the ocean. One requirement just ruin the magical antique to release cursed people such as Will from their magical bonds. By film’s end, our heroes accomplish their objective, Will reunites with Elizabeth and the world is as it should be.
Other than, in 2007’s “At World’s End,” Will’s heart was gotten rid of from his body as part of the routine required to bind him to the Flying Dutchman. So, in theory, if Poseidon’s trident is ruined, shouldn’t Will drop dead on the spot, as an outcome of not having a heart inside his body?
There are a couple of fascinating theories floating around the web about this really plot point, but perhaps the very best comes via TVTropes.com.
“Salazar’s undead team grew back body parts after the curse was raised,” the website speculates. “We can assume the same thing took place to Will.”
Certainly, the finale of “Dead Guy” sees the trident broken by Henry and Jack, hence returning mortality to Salazar’s mates on the area. So, it stands to reason that Will’s heart magically restored itself inside him as soon as menstruation was lifted, resulting in his happily ever after. Let’s simply hope he was above water at the time.
